With a little practice, you can use an equalizer to significantly improve your music-listening experience. Use EQ sparingly and focus on creating an overall balanced sound. If one way sounds good with a lot of EQ, that doesn’t mean that all of your soundtracks will benefit from being similarly boosted. On the other hand, pushing the levels too high can create distortion and make your music sound tinny and harsh. It would help if you were careful about using too much EQ on individual tracks. It can be tempting to crank up the bass or boost the treble, but doing so can ruin the balance of your music. ![]() When using an equalizer, less is often more. In this example, it’s the main upstream branch. Then, merge the changes from the upstream branch to the local branch. To sync an upstream repo, first, you need to fetch the upstream changes. Tip: With Jenkins multibranch pipelines, you can easily set up the hooks for pull requests from a Forked branch. Then you would raise a PR to the actual project repository from your forked repository. You push your changes to a branch in the forked repository.Meanwhile, to keep up with the main open-source repository, you pull the changes from it through your git upstream config. Then you clone from the forked repository. You would fork the actual project repository. This workflow is common in open-source development and even in normal project developments.įor example, If you wanted to contribute to an open-source project, this is what you do. When you clone a Forked repository to your local, the forked repository is considered as the remote origin, and the repository you forked from is upstream. ![]() So, for your local copy, the actual repository is upstream. Whenever you clone a git repository, you get a local copy in your system. Let’s take a look at different types of git upstreams. For example, when you clone from Github, the remote Github repo is upstream for the cloned local copy. In the git world, upstream refers to the original repo or a branch. Like the literal meaning, upstream refers to something which points to where it originated from. Note: We are following the name “main” instead of “master” considering the removal of terms like “master” and “slave” in the IT community. Have you wondered how to keep the forked repo in sync with the main repo? It’s done by adding the main repo as the upstream. If oxygen levels dropped, a loud, automated warning would have alerted the pilots to put on their oxygen masks and immediately descend below 10,000 feet, where there is enough oxygen to breathe without aid. Among multiple theories in the 2014 disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 carrying 239 passengers and crew was a slow or sudden decompression, causing a loss of oxygen, that could have killed everyone on board. Plus, there likely would have been other damage to the plane, which kept flying.īrickhouse, the other Embry-Riddle professor, said that aircraft are often set to fly on autopilot “so if the pilot goes hypoxic or loses consciousness, that aircraft is just going to fly whatever route it was programmed to fly,” he said. If it had, the interior windows would have frosted over from quickly changing pressure at 34,000 feet. ![]() The fact that the pilot could be seen through the windows could mean that the aircraft did not have a “catastrophic” pressurization failure, Waldock said. The officials were not authorized to discuss details of the military operation and spoke on condition of anonymity. The fighter jet pilots who caught up with the business jet said its pilot appeared to be slumped over and unresponsive, according to two US officials briefed on the matter. At 34,000 feet, you really can’t move air volume in and out.” “That type of aircraft usually has a an emergency mask for the pilot, called a pressure-demand mask, that actually force feeds oxygen into your lungs. “Whatever hit him, hit him fast enough to where the pilot didn’t really have too much time to get on the emergency oxygen system,” Waldock said. The Sunday crash wasn’t the first time a flight ended up far from its destination under mysterious circumstances. But it kind of depends on what kind of autopilot system the aircraft had.” “The turn (away from New York and back south) is a little perplexing. “It went up to 34,000 feet and basically stayed there - all the way up, all the way back,” Waldock said. “By far the most likely suspect is some sort of a pressurization issue,” said William Waldock, a professor of safety science who teaches aircraft accident investigation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona. before crashing in Virginia, k illing the pilot and three passengers. And to top it off, Fogerty's voice has itself become a memento, a tattered and yellowing relic bolstered by weird echoes and other inappropriate effects - so much so that you barely recognize him through the fog." -Robert Wilonsky, The Dallas Observer, June 5th, 1997. It’s everywhere around us and in fact, it is even found inside us. ![]() Regardless of who you are and where you are from, we cannot escape art. It’s a shapeshifting entity – it becomes anything we want it to be. The meaning of art can be superficial it can also be profound. It triggers our imagination and empowers us to create something extraordinary. “It’s always good to look at a well-done traditional tattoo and know that it will last the tests of time.Art is universal and whether we love it or not, it’s one of the most essential expressions that we can create or develop. “This style has been going on for so long that it will never die,” notes Nealeigh. These tattoos also tend to have bold black outlines and heavy but minimal black shading, and Nealeigh says it's such a common style because of its timeless designs. The style is also called old school, Americana, or Western style, and is composed of simple, clean designs with heavily saturated colors and images such as animal heads, roses, pin-ups, ships, and other military-related designs, says Tyler Nealeigh of Black Lotus Tattooers in Gilbert, AZ. Sailor Jerry, a tattoo artist who worked from the 1940s to the 1970s and was heavily influenced by hand-poked tattoos and his deployment in the U.S Navy. The style was made popular by Norman Collins, a.k.a. “A good tattoo will be placed correctly on the body, will have the right proportions, and will flatter the body shape,” adds traditional tattoos first started appearing on soldiers in the 1700s who got inked as a memento of travels to different countries and cultures. According to Shasho, what really makes a good geometric tattoo, though, is how it will flow with the body. It’s also important to consider the size of the tattoo, adds Shasho, as something small tends to be less complex to keep it from looking messy and a larger design tends to be more intricate. what shapes they like more-sharp, flow, organic, mechanical-so the person will have a connection to the tattoo as well.” “When I choose a geometric design, I try to understand what kind of shapes will suit the person and the body part,” Shasho says. Any design can really be done in a geometric style, says Dana Shasho of Gida Tattoo in Tel Aviv, Israel-as long as you consider its composition. In modern geometric tattoos, however, aesthetics play a major part, as they help to make sure the design doesn’t just end up looking clunky or unbalanced. The style can be achieved with black and shades of grey just as well as it can be with pastel or vivid colors the key is to have a thorough understanding of the underlying skin tone and how the colors mix tattoos are inspired by tribal tattoos of many cultures, including Maori, Polynesian, and Thai. “If a particular watercolor tattoo would include the color red, I will typically use at least five different red tones, from dark red to light red, in order to create a watercolor effect,” says Christiansen.Īlthough a large color gradient is one element of a successful watercolor tattoo, Christiansen says that the real way to create a good-looking and lasting watercolor tattoo is the contrast, not the color choice. ![]() The same needles and depth are used, notes Christiansen, but the design employs a wider range of ink colors to create a fading gradient effect. A common misconception is that less ink is used than in traditional designs, but the opposite is the case. The watercolor effect is achieved by using the same general techniques as any other tattoo style, says tattoo artist Britta Christiansen. From ink with bold lines and abstract patterns to tattoos with a soft look and pastel color palette, any image looks good in a watercolor style they can even work as cover-up tattoos because of their fluid look and the need to fill up space. Tattoos are designs done in a way that mimics the look and fluidity of a watercolor painting with pigment. ![]() Next year you will already have a map of your garden. Do not feel obligated to do something you don’t enjoy doing, because this shouldn’t become another chore for you. We often do not remember as much as we thought we would. Leave some room for notes, it’s more likely that you will write down what seems important if there is room for it. There is no right or wrong, whatever helps you to grow a better garden. You can add the name of specific varieties, or keep it more general. Or you can add numbers of plants how many you plan to grow. You can start with the list of all the varieties you want to grow on one side, and a plan on the other. It’s your plan, make it as specific as you want or find it helpful. Write down the year the plan is for and start planning. This time you do not need to add measurements. Secondly, copy that map to the next page or pages depending on how big your garden is. That first plan in the notebook is the primary map for future plans. You can use whatever scale you want, I would not recommend going smaller than that though, you want to have room to write. In the example picture, I used 4 grid dots for 1 square foot. Make sure to add the measurements and the scale you use. Start planning your vegetable gardenįirstly, transfer your garden map into the notebook. This will be important when planning where to plant what because you usually want tall plants in the north so that they do not shade the smaller plants. If a bed runs north to south, sketch it top to bottom, if a bed runs east to west, it will be across the page. Generally, it’s easy to have north on top of the page, so all beds are according to how they are in real approximation to the sun. Sun exposure is another thing that you want to mark on the plan. So I encourage you to take the time and make a good map. However, from my own experience, I can say that skipping this step only makes things more difficult. If like us, you have different beds in different areas, it might get a bit more complicated. If you have a simple garden patch, this will be easy. For the annual garden, we do not need a fancy plan for the whole garden, just the annual vegetable beds. Now take a measuring tape and get the length and width of each bed. Make a simple map on a piece of paper of your garden layout. This step is needed no matter if you want to use an online planner, a garden book, or make your own garden planner notebook. Measuring the growing areaįor planing the annual vegetable garden you need to know the garden area where the vegetables will be planted. A spiral-bound is a good option so it can stay open easily. Gridlines or dots are helpful in sketching the garden beds. A4 or letter (8¼ × 11¾ inches) is a good size, so there is room to plan. Instead, get yourself a notebook, not too fancy, so you are afraid to mess up but nice and durable enough so that it can be used for many years. That piece of paper gets misplaced and lost quite quickly. However, that’s where the trouble starts. Here we offer a simple way to make your own garden planner that you can use as much or as little as you find helpful.Īny piece of paper can be used to sketch out the garden area or garden beds you have and start “planting”. This is true for meal planning for gardeners as well as garden planning. If you have followed us for a while, you’d know that we like things simple. If you don’t, the planner becomes another thing to tackle. If you catch the idea, it can be a help to use a planner. It often reflects the growing conditions the author has and includes a ton of information that may or may not be relevant to your situation. Garden planner books are written by and for great planners.Įach author, online or in a book offers a plan that he or she finds helpful. It’s great for people who prefer to use a computer or even a smartphone to plan the garden. If you want to try your hand on an online version, try VegPlotter, a free planner. There are great garden planners out there both online and on paper. And if you are consistent year after year, you can also optimize crop rotation, however, both of these are a bit overrated.Ī good garden plan also helps to keep track of what did well where, and how much your family really needs. You can also take the time to look up companion planting for optimal results. Using microclimates you can find the best location for the different plants. ![]() This is very important if you want to grow what you eat, not waste seeds and time on things you don’t need. With a garden plan, you can think through ahead of time what and how much you want to plant. Oh, the struggle! If you know what I’m talking about, keep reading to find a simpler solution. You know how it goes, you make a plan, at least sort of, then change it and then lose it. Planning a vegetable garden is for those, who love making plans and lists, a welcomed exercise, but a struggle for not-natural planners. |
